National Pension Scheme or NPS offers a chance for every working Indian to invest and secure their financial future.
The current regulations state that this pan-India pension scheme is a mandate for Government employees but optional for others.
Nevertheless, to apply for it, one needs to fill out a subscriber registration form.
There are several types of NPS subscription forms, and each one of them has a different purpose when it comes to NPS Registration.
Since each category is treated differently under the National Pension Scheme, they have respective
registration forms or sub-forms or cover letters for registration.
There are different types of sub forms available online under the National Pension System.
Different categories of NPS Subscriber Registration Form
Following are the different categories of NPS registration forms
POP Forms – PoP/PoP-SP facilitates subscriber registrations for the Tier I and Tier II accounts.
In this form, you need to furnish identity proofs like the PAN Card Number and Aadhar Card Number,
along with other KYC details for address and date of birth. You will also have to submit the bank account details.
Corporates Forms – Corporate subscribers working in private corporate firms, are required to fill out
this form along with their KYC documents, like identity, address, and birth proof, to their nearest PoP branch.
A subscriber should also submit a photo (passport size), PAN card copy, and the first contribution amount for account creation
(details provided at respective PoP) through cheque.
State Government Forms - This subscriber registration form NPS is required for employees employed by the state government.
Apart from the NREGA details, the remaining KYC documents are the same as the ones required by individual subscribers and corporate
employees. Employee verification documents from the respective state government offices are also required.
State Autonomous Bodies Forms - The state government has several autonomous bodies operating under it.
These could be state-run hospitals or power corporations, or any other organisation that runs on independent jurisdiction
within a particular state. The employees of these organisations need to fill out this NPS subscriber registration form.
The documents required are more or less the same as mentioned above.
Central Government Forms – This
NPS subscription form
is to be filled by employees working for organisations and departments under the direct jurisdiction of the
Indian Central Government. The CBI, cabinet secretariat, CAG, Election Commission, Vigilance department, Finance commission
and all those bodies in connection with central ministries come under this category.
Central autonomous forms – Organisations that come under the Union Government’s jurisdiction but
behave independently as per their norms come under Central Autonomous Employees working in such organisations
need to fill out this NPS subscription form to start their investment journey.
